Troubled Blacks Woos Former Moss Bros Chief
BLACKS Leisure has held talks with Adrian Wright, the former head of menswear chain Moss Bros, as a possible replacement for ousted chief executive Russell Hardy. The outdoor retailer is understood to have contacted Wright, who is also a former director at Blacks chain Millets, and is considering several other candidates. Finance director and acting chief executive Keith Fleming is also thought to be in the running.
Ifas Beg to Come Clean On Charges
FINANCIAL advisers want the City watchdog to oblige them to reveal to customers what fees and commissions they are receiving, a survey has surprisingly revealed. In a poll of 800 IFAs, 56 per cent said they agreed with the Financial Services Authoritys proposals to make them agree their payment upfront with their client, saying it best served the customer.
INTERNET fraudsters are stealing goods worth about 594.5 million a year from retailers, according to new research. The survey, which will be published this week, shows that two- thirds of retailers believe that light sentences applied in the courts may be encouraging criminals.

Mirror Scraps Midland Sale ; Outlook
TRINITY MIRROR is understood to have pulled the sale of its Midlands-based newspaper group, which includes the Birmingham Post, after the papers failed to attract a high enough price, writes Jon Rees. However, the publisher, whose flagship title is the Daily Mirror, is set this week to announce the sale of the Racing Post to the Irish investment group FL Partners for about 170 million 20 million less than originally expected.
EARLY signs of the credit crunch damping down the demand for household debt are expected in figures tomorrow from the Bank of England. They are forecast by Lloyds TSB to show the net increase in consumer borrowing, after repayments were taken into account, down from 1.1 billion in July to between 800 million and 900 million in August.
