For most mothers, giving birth prematurely at 33 weeks would be terrifying. But for 28-year-old Teresa Osborn it was something of a glorious triumph, writes Victoria Lambert.
Teresa suffers from a condition that prevents a baby growing properly in the womb. She and her husband Alan, 29, had already suffered the loss of a daughter born at 24 weeks and an early miscarriage at seven weeks. So when Professor Andy Shennan monitored Teresa's third pregnancy, a year ago, he decided to use a 30-minute test that costs just Pounds 50 and is now available to 11,000 UK mothers at high-risk of premature labour.See the full content of this document
