CHRISTMAS is coming, but no one is getting fat. Everybody knows this is the toughest economic climate since the Second World War, a time of unparalleled awfulness.
Actually, Government figures this week suggest reasons to be, if not cheerful, then at least a little less glum. Yes, 2009 will be grim, as to a lesser extent will be the next ten years. But how bad is bad? There is one immediate bright spot. November's inflation figures will be published on Tuesday and are expected to reinforce the downward trend.See the full content of this document
