MPLOYERS who adopt a 'last in, first out' policy on redundancies could face age discrimination claims, according to experts. The warning comes as business owners look to ride out the credit crunch by cutting their wage bills.

According to emw law, a commercial law firm based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, younger employees are more likely to go if firms make recent recruits redundant. Yet small business owners may not realise that employees are protected by legislation from losing their jobs on age grounds.
