Last August, Mary Archer went to an important appointment in New York with high powered publisher Jack Romanos, the president of Simon Schuster and a man who had once published Jeffrey Archer's novels. However, very few of these disgruntled subjects go to the lengths Mary Archer did: making direct appeals to the president of a publishing house; making legal demands to see all the material I had accumulated; and even accusing me of accessing private records to help get interviews.
