ARGOS has waded into the turmoil in the sportswear sector by complaining to the Competition Commission that it is excluded from selling some sports equipment and clothing brands.

In a letter dated September 4, the catalogue shop said tightly held distribution agreements between chains such as JJB Sports and Sports Direct and their suppliers had effectively excluded it from parts of the market.
