Asthmatics are nearly three times more at risk of developing dental cavities than the rest of the population, according to new research carried out by the University of Oulu in Finland.

An estimated 5.4million Britons have asthma, a condition causing inflammation of the airways that results in breathlessness. It affects one in 11 children.
