WHEN Barcelona step out at Rome's Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night, they will do so as a team worthy to rival the legends of British football, the Lisbon Lions and the Busby Babes.

For when Celtic became the first British team to win the European Cup in 1967 - indeed, the first non-Latin club to do so - manager Jock Stein achieved that triumph fielding a team including 10 players who were from Glasgow or its suburbs, just as he was.
