Which is probably why the online giant is teaming up with L'Oreal to create a new channel called Destination Beauty, a yearlong collaboration that will feature content from YouTube phenomenon Lauren Luke, make-up artist Kandee Johnson and Seventeen magazine, who between them have 174m hits to date! The aim is to give online viewers a dedicated channel to visit for make-up tutorials, tips on all things beauty, and the tricks to re-creating celebrity looks.

eXPeRt OPiniOn at the recent Parisian launch of lancome's autumn/ Winter collections, the brand's make-up designer, aaron de Mey, had the worldwide press in raptures with an innovative longwear eyeshadow, Ombre Magnetique, which gives dazzling shine. The primary shades in De Mey's new French Coquettes collection are cherry, black and silver. De Mey, who is considered a beauty industry visionary, explains the technology behind the shadow: 'Pearl pigments make up an exceptional 40 per cent of the formula to produce a magnifying- glass effect with reflective properties for intense colour and dazzling results. The formula is almost gellike and even beginners will love how simply it is applied. You can create a smoky effect in the blink of an eye. Simply apply the black or cherry shade along the lash line, then quickly smudge using the fingertips.' Easy!
