Nick Kenyon, director of the Proms for a decade, is now ensconced at the Barbican, but did enough work on this summer's programme to ensure that it reflects his eclectic, let-a-thousand-flowers-bloom philosophy, to which I hope his successor, Roger Wright, is fully signed up.
