IRELAND will have more reason to cheer at next month's Winter Olympics after bobsleigh and skeleton pilots Aoife Hoey and Patrick Shannon were yesterday confirmed as qualifiers for Vancouver.
Laois native Hoey, 26, will travel to Canada along with brake women Claire Bergin, 24, and Leona Byrne, 22, to represent the first ever Ireland team in the two-woman bobsled event after a 20th place finish with Bergin in the World Cup event in St Moritz, Switzerland secured their spot.See the full content of this document
