When a pose like this pops up in a horror film it's usually the moment to look away, as it's inevitably the prelude to the victim's head being ripped from its moorings in glorious 3D. This greeting ritual is normally all about elegance and graciousness and involves gentle shoulder-touch rather than turning the head into the filling for some sort of hand sandwich.
