PENSION payments for the newly retired are being sent out late because of Civil Service job cuts ordered by Gordon Brown when he was Chancellor, union leaders have claimed.
They say a three-month backlog of unopened mail at the National Pension Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne and the cutback of staff at The Pension Service from 23,000 to about 13,000 during the past four years are causing the delays.See the full content of this document
