WHO Charlie and Caroline Gladstone set up Pedlars - the interiors company accessible via mail-order, internet and shop - eight years ago. They live between their homes in London and Glen Dye in Kincardineshire, Scotland, and spend most of their holidays in their house in France with their six children: Felix, nine, Kinvara, 12, Xanthe, 14, Tara, 16, India, 18, and Jack, 20.

THE HOUSE Le Vieux Colombier (the Old Dovecote) in Burgundy. Charlie and Caroline bought it ten years ago after a four-year search. It's set in three acres, so there's plenty of room to pitch the teepee, make lots of noise, build campfires and have all their friends to stay.
