Summary
BUSINESS in Yorkshire and Humberside is booming, but the East Midlands and Scotland are in the doldrums. The latest quarterly survey from the Small Business Research Trust found that 56 per cent of companies in the Yorkshire region experienced growth in the last quarter, compared with only 34 per cent of firms in Scotland and the East Midlands.
Manufacturing saw the most investment, followed by the construction and retail sectors. And four out of ten small businesses have seen their turnover increase and two thirds said that investment had been stable.See the full content of this document
