Every mortgage broker, adviser and lender has to be authorised to trade by the Financial Services Authority. Check yours by clicking on Check Our Register at www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk or on 0845 6061234. If you have a complaint, raise it with the company and go to the FSA if it isn't resolved.
The Money Made Clear website also has a guide to making effective complaints. If you have suffered losses after bad advice or fraud, there are several organisations which may help. The Financial Services Compensation Scheme can act in many mortgage related cases.
