MOTHERWELL'S new breed thrilled their fans on Thursday night, thrashing Albanians Flamurtari 8-1 to record the biggest European win by a Scottish club since Rangers beat Valletta 10-0 in 1983.

And the youngsters played their part. All the side's goals were scored by teenagers -- Jamie Murphy and Ross Forbes (19), Shaun Hutchinson and Robert McHugh (18) and 17-year-old Paul Slane -- and the average age of Jim Gannon's outfield players was 21.
