HE DIDN'T make a fuss, because that's not his way. He just let it be known that, from the first day of August, Wigan Athletic will be playing at the DW Stadium. That's right, 'DW'. Stands for 'Dave Whelan'. And if that sounds like his personal pitch for posterity, then so be it.
