There are many advantages to living in the heart of Co. Wicklow but inexpensive access to Dublin airport is not one of them. A taxi is out of the question - over EUR 100 each way - and the airport coach, though now operating as far as Greystones, is just not that convenient when you have to drive to get to the coach and then park your car somewhere in Greystones while you are away. On top of that, if it's one of those godawful middle-of-the-night flights, it takes the coach 90 minutes to travel from Greystones so it's certainly no quick fix and you'd definitely have to put aside all thoughts of an extra half hour in bed.

When we travel abroad for three or four days we have always, in the past, used the DAA's long-term car park. It's not cheap and, because we are so disorganised (not the DAA's fault, I appreciate) we never get round to booking online, something that does help to bring down the cost a bit. Still, for two or three days, EUR 9.50 a day is palatable - and it is very convenient.
