Civil Engineer Doubles Its Money

Summary


ONE of the largest privately owned construction and civil engineering companies, Bowmer Kirkland, increased profits before tax by 58 per cent last year from Pounds 21.2 million to Pounds 33.5 million.

The family-owned Derbyshire-based group, run by chairman and chief executive John Kirkland, 66, builds supermarkets for the likes of Tesco and Sainsbury and is working on the Royal Docks, east London, the capital's largest business park.
