IN a recent episode of EastEnders, Stacey Branning was turned down for the course she wanted to go on at her local college. I'm worried that my daughter may encounter similar difficulties when she applies this year. Is there a way to guarantee her a place at college? THE good news is that the Government has in place a process called the September Guarantee, which ensures your daughter will be able to continue in learning.

Almost 90 per cent of 16-year-olds continued in education and training in 2006, but the other ten per cent are unlikely to go through any higher education or training and will probably be unemployed.
