A SOLICITOR who served as a London magistrate has been sentenced to two years in jail suspended for 18 months, eight years after I first issued an appeal from the National Crime Squad for victims to come forward with evidence.
Appearing at Southwark Crown Court last Monday, Stuart Creggy admitted money laundering and was banned from acting as a company director for seven years. Creggy was part of a corrupt network that ran fake stockbroker Equity Mutual Trust. He recruited a Liberian envoy to front deals in bogus company shares.
