ANTI-POLLUTION teams were on standby yesterday after a ship carrying potentially dangerous chemicals was beached a mile off the South Devon coast.
The Napoli, from which 26 crew members were airlifted to safety on Thursday, was towed onto a sandbank off Branscombe because of fears it might sink in worsening conditions.
