A BRITISH soldier has been killed by Taliban gunmen while on patrol in Afghanistan - the fifth Serviceman to die in the past month.

The soldier, from The Highlanders, 4th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, was fatally wounded by gunfire in an ambush in the Lashkar Gah district of Helmand Province on Friday.
