If I may adopt the vocal mannerisms of an Eighties Valley Girl for one minute, I have an announcement. Retro is, like, so over. That's right, it's gone. Consigned to history. Banished to the charity shop for good.

If you're the sort of man who has a collection of typewriters, telescopes or old VHS machines, then it's time you got with the programme (and I'm not talking about Starsky & Hutch). If you're the sort of chap who 'misses the warmth' of 35mm film, or who spends hours on eBay looking for old copies of Smash Hits, then you're probably also the sort of chap who thinks that ketchup doesn't taste as good from plastic bottles. Not only is retro dead but - trust me on this - the future really is only about the future.
