On DIY SOS, Nick Knowles and his band of builders improve hundreds of homes all belonging to other people. But last year, Knowles tackled a project of his own: the complete renovation of his house in Chiswick, West London.
'I bought it for Pounds 350,000 two years ago,' says Knowles. 'I was renting in the road and this came up for sale. The old lady who lived here was born and died here and the place was falling down.'
