I was a bit scared but went with them and the swan to a vet, who examined the bird -- it turned out a piece of metal had lodged in its neck. The vet operated and the boys stayed to find out if all went well. I was happy to learn that the swan would recover -- and that all young adults are not thugs and hooligans.
