SEAN CUDDIHY remembers the nauseating sensation of cartwheeling helplessly through the air, and his sickening impact with the ground. Then, mercifully, came oblivion. Mercifully because, for Sean and his friends, the horror was just beginning.

As he lay in a shattered, inert heap, his friends rushed to his aid.
