Binyam Mohammed al Habashi is a terror suspect accused of planning a dirty bomb attack in America. His lawyer Clive Stafford Smith is preparing his defence. Binyam's allegations about his treatment are, of course, uncorroborated and largely uncheckable. They should be treated with caution.

But his vivid account paints a similar picture to claims made by other terror suspects subjected to the CIA's programme of 'extraordinary rendition'.
