Climbing Everest at the age of 65 may seem foolhardy. But the millionaire executive chairman of Iceland, Malcolm Walker, is a man who can afford not to slum it. Going with him and his team on the two-month expedition will be ten crates of wine, two tons of food and an executive chef.

Speaking to Financial Mail at his headquarters in Deeside ahead of his departure today, he says: 'Yes, it's a big challenge. But we're also planning to have a good time.'
