THE City's long-term forecasters are having a tough time. As the FTSE 100 broke through 5,000 last week, it left most predictions for its full-year performance looking meaningless.
At the start of the year, City banks gave their forecasts for where the Footsie would stand at the end of 2005. Naturally, there was a spread of opinion, but the average of all the forecasts pointed to a figure of between 5,000 and 5,100.See the full content of this document
