LOUIS Bleriot had no problem making it across the Channel - but French air traffic controllers refused to allow a flight marking the centenary of his epic flight to take off last night because it was too dangerous.

The original Bleriot XI aircraft, flown in 1909 by the French aviation pioneer, was due to take off from Calais.
