WEST BROMWICH squandered the chance to move level with Norwich City at the top of the First Division ahead of Tuesday's visit to Carrow Road as they crashed to their first home league defeat for four months.

Manager Gary Megson gambled everything on a triple substitution in the 55th minute when he sent on Delroy Facey, Joost Volmer and Sean Gregan for Lee Hughes, Paul Robinson and Mark Kinsella. But it left him with no other options when Rotherham snatched a goal midway through the second half.
