POLICE chiefs sent a curt warning to officers not to use excessive force with the homeless - just two weeks before undercover celebrities slept on the streets for a TV documentary.

Stars including former tennis player Annabel Croft, the Marquis of Blandford and Bruce Jones, who played Les Battersby in Coronation Street, spent ten days filming the BBC documentary Famous, Rich And Homeless.
