Summary
STEVE SANSOME is making determined progress in his bid to become the first man to play for different clubs in the finals of The Mail on Sunday Classic.
The former English Mid-Amateur champion won a thrilling four- hole sudden-death play-off against Cold Ashby when he birdied the 22nd hole to put Leicestershire club Kilworth Springs into the third round. Sansome -- who was in the Birstall team that reached the finals in 2004, losing in the semi-finals to eventual winners Hertfordshire -- said: 'I really enjoyed getting to the finals before and now it would be great to make a bit of history with Kilworth.' The 1998 champions, Creigiau, produced the most powerful performance of the second round with a 5-0 whitewash of South Wales rivals Vale of Glamorgan.See the full content of this document
