PAUL QUINN wants his move from Motherwell to Cardiff City to propel him into George Burley's Scotland squad, but he also hopes his new beginning will mark the end of a particularly turbulent passage in his life.

The past couple of years could euphemistically be called colourful where this outgoing full-back is concerned. In the space of a few months in 2008, Quinn had his jaw broken in an incident outside a Wishaw nightspot, was convicted of a previous assault which occurred at teammate Ross McCormack's birthday party and was robbed at gunpoint while on holiday with his girlfriend in Florida.
