FOR ME, 2010 is best represented by the tattoo situated on the right ankle of Barcelona's brilliant Brazilian full-back Dani Alves. It must have nipped a bit to ink the image but there, clear as day, is an impressive cartoon of Tweety Pie bullying a looming Sylvester the Cat in a 'man bites dog' role reversal, if you'll pardon the mixed metaphor.

Alves, just scraping in at a manly 5ft 8in, has always been shop steward for the footballing 'wee man', but the tattoo represents his dream of the ultimate triumph of wit over 'welly'.
