Hague in Cabinet Snub to Howard

WILLIAM HAGUE has snubbed Michael Howard by rejecting a plea to return to the Shadow Cabinet to give the Tories more firepower in the run-up to the General Election.

The Mail on Sunday understands Mr Howard wanted Mr Hague to take over as the party's foreign affairs spokesman, replacing Michael Ancram, who would have been given a special campaigning role at Tory HQ.
