Oh dear. It has not been a good week. I have suffered the following rather debilitating setbacks... 1 At my niece's wedding, my brand new Bottega Veneta dove grey strapless dress would not stay up (Carrie Bradshaw never seemed to have the same problem), so I spent the entire day with my elbows clamped to my sides to prevent exposing my nipples to the vicar; everyone thought I was rude as I refused to shake hands or hug. The day only got worse, unfortunately, when the man I was sitting next to for dinner asked me whether the bride's father, who is my oldest sibling and in his mid 60s, is older or younger than me. It was like the moment in Friends when a wedding guest assumes Monica is Ross's mother. I wanted to kill myself.
