MARTIN JOHNSON admitted last night that he is under pressure as England manager, but dismissed the notion that his coaching regime is at risk if his much-criticised side lose to France at Twickenham today.

Brooding, stubborn and introspective, Johnson defended a Six Nations campaign that has become a lost cause following away defeats in Dublin and Cardiff. He admitted he is frustrated by the flood of yellow cards that have undermined England's performances and made no excuse for his animated show of dismay at Croke Park over England's crass indiscipline.
