In recent times I've thought about death a lot. I've had to face it because one of my best friends died a year ago. It still feels so new and recent to me the pain hasn't lessened and death has suddenly become very tangible. Dying is no longer some mysterious thing out there that is entirely unrelated to me.

Until someone you love dies, you think, 'I'm going to live forever, I'm going to learn how to fly.' But when you lose someone, you become aware that you are here on this earth for only a moment.
