DAVIE IRONS has spent the past few weeks telling his Gretna players not to be overawed by SPL opposition yet he concedes hell be star-struck when he meets Gordon Strachan this afternoon. Fresh from plotting the downfall of Champions League holders AC Milan in midweek, Strachan takes his Celtic players to Fir Park this afternoon to face the rookies of the Premier League. He said: Im always telling my players not to be intimidated by playing in the SPL and, overall, they have heeded that message.
But, from my own point of view, I cant help but be star-struck meeting Gordon Strachan and Walter Smith. They are huge characters and guys I have huge respect and admiration for. The SPL are having their managers conference at Gleneagles after the Scotland game next weekend and Ill need to get my autograph book out for that one.See the full content of this document
