STOKE City leave the bright lights of the Premier League behind this week and travel to Leyton Orient for a league cup tie on Wednesday night. Stoke players will have gone from Anfield to the Matchroom Stadium in just a week, but according to Ireland winger Liam Lawrence, the downgraded facilities will not have much of an impact on the players. They are, after all, the poor relations in the top flight.

Stoke's survival last season owed much to their astute manager Tony Pullis, their style of play and the rabid crowds of Britannia Stadium; it was also a throwback to bygone days in English football.
