THERE are never any mistakes in politics, only 'lessons to be learned'. I lost count of the number of times Gordon Brown, during questioning at the Iraq Inquiry on Friday, used that phrase. 'It is our duty to learn lessons,' he said.
No it's not! The world's problems are so urgent we don't need leaders who still need practice. I found Brown's performance strangely chilling: there was no passion. He revealed himself to be a mere bean counter (and not a very good one at that), a real jobsworth unconcerned with the bigger picture.See the full content of this document
