Summary
Band reunions are now commonplace enough to make us jaded. But the apparently brief return of Magazine ( The Forum, London)****after 28 years is a happy surprise. They could be seen as a post-punk Velvet Underground: a cultishly revered act whose limited commercial success was far outweighed by their influence and brilliance. A good proportion of today's rock bands wouldn't be who they are but for Magazine, even if many don't realise it.
