I KNOW this second Lisbon has very stark implications for all our futures. I know I should make my decision on the facts, on a close reading of the treaty and an assessment of the arguments on both sides. I know I should take into account the country's economic precariousness and other grave matters.

But, driving around this past week, I have found myself vacillating between the two sides. Not on the basis of fact and analysis, but because, at various moments, I have felt myself insulted and patronised by the posters of one side or the other. I am now all but decided to vote for the side that offends me less.
