In the middle of the Buckinghamshire countryside is a most unusual conversion of a series of barns, which form a complete square around a pretty courtyard. The property is all on one level, with dark-stained shiplapped timber on the exterior, giving it a rather austere appearance.

However, the interior couldn't be more different. Valerie and Peter Rowles bought the barns, eight miles from Aylesbury, ten years ago and moved in after two years spent living in a mobile home on the site.
