A GOVERNMENT minister was bullied into attempting to manipulate local government elections by senior Labour Party figures, it was claimed last night.

Just days after Douglas Alexander was forced to apologise for Scotland's chaotic parliamentary elections, it emerged that former Finance Minister Tom McCabe came under intense pressure to try to give Labour an advantage in local council ballots.
