MUNSTER'S clash today in Cork with scarlets has become the fourth Magners League match scheduled to be played in Ireland this weekend to fall victim to the big freeze.

Officials had hoped that the use of protective covers and heaters would stop the Musgrave Park pitch from freezing over, but Munster finally admitted defeat early yesterday morning when the ground was inspected at 10am by former test referee David McHugh after overnight temperatures had fallen to minus nine degrees.
