A. W. B. writes: I worked for a small company that took out a Prudential pension policy for me. I recently received a letter from Prudential to say that unless I drew the money before my 75th birthday, I would lose the right to a tax-free payment. Prudential said it had informed the company's pension trustees and asked them to authorise payment to me, but without this authority Prudential will not even tell me how much money is involved. In short, it is my money, but I cannot have it.
